Filming in addition to photography.
Film and photo can work as a great combo, one worth pursuing. I usually do this for live streaming. Camera is in a fixed location so I can concentrate on pictures. Bad or no parking, multiple venues mean it can be counterproductive. Lots of time is wasted hauling kit around. An extra pair of hands can balance this equation. Filming in terms of style, when I am doing photography is much more basic.
Kit video camera, sound kit, tripod + photography kit.
£200
Filming exclusively
A much more dedicated task. Composition, “cinematography”, style, they can all be given more attention. This does not included editing. If you just want the raw content please bring a large hard drive on the day. 500GB plus.
Kit video camera, sound kit, tripod and steadicam (a proper one).
£400-500
Editing (video) day rate
Depending on what you want will take one day maybe more.
In addition to editing this includes correcting sound & levels. Video almost always has to be colour corrected before it is graded.
£150
Cream of the top
The great, the odd and the lucky. A small look at some recent weddings.
The big day, It’s a non stop, one take shoot. Even with some ability & preparation circumstances don’t always go your way.
I find ABC will get you through. Always be cool. Work hard, get stuck in and your luck will change.
I really just photograph religious weddings & even then I’m suspicious, it’s all the bare faced hyperbole that gets me. Not my scene. No thanks.
Give me an old style wedding or even a straight faced day out at the registry office and I’m there. The photographer is the guy in the background but for a few minutes of megalomaniac tyranny organising group shots that’s where I like to stay. Make some jokes, have some small talk, keep moving, this in my experience gets results.
For kit I use Canon. Fill up with lots of charged batteries & flash guns. All my work is shot on 3 primes lenses. A 14mm, 24mm and an 85mm.

Long tables Wooden chairs not enough space
My kind of style.

Upon hearing the amazing prices
Many turned away and did not believe.
